自从东晋谢赫在《古画品录》中提出“六法”之后,自古至今,人们一直把气韵生动作为品评绘画的最高标准。在谢赫那个年代,“六法”的提出无疑是文艺评论的一大进步。它表明文艺的分类学已经脱离了模糊不清的阶段,达到了概念明确的程度;它表明绘画理论已经脱离了零散片面的阶段,上升到自成体系的水平。然而谢赫只提出了纲目,没有逐步地阐明其含义及各条之间的联系,因此,造成了后人众说纷纭,甚至将气韵生动披上一层神
Since ancient times, Sheikh put forward “Six Laws” in the “Ancient Pictorial Catalog”. Since ancient times, people have always regarded the vividness and charm as the highest standard of composing and painting paintings. At the time of Sheikh, the proposition of “Six Laws” was undoubtedly a great progress in literary criticism. It shows that the taxonomy of literature and art has departed from the ambiguous stage and reached a definite level of concept. It shows that the theory of painting has been separated from the fragmentary one-sided stage to the level of self-contained system. However, Sheikh only put forward the outline, did not gradually clarify its meaning and the links between the various articles, therefore, resulting in different opinions, even vividly put a layer of God
