First, the preface Phosphorus is one of the main elements endowed with weathering steel. Phosphorus not only can effectively improve the corrosion resistance of steel in various environments, but also cheaper prices. According to H.V.Haxley et al.: Phosphorus in low-carbon steel is more than seven times less hazardous than sulfur. In general, when the phosphorus content in steel exceeds 0.13%, phosphorus content increases with the steel. The impact of phosphorus can be significantly increased. Admittedly, the content of phosphorus has an important influence on the cold and hot crack susceptibility of steel. However, there are a lot of data that the degree of influence is also related to the contents of carbon, sulfur, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium and nickel in steel Among them, especially carbon, when the amount of carbon in steel exceeds 0.10%, the impact of phosphorus on crack sensitivity will increase as the amount of carbon in steel increases. Therefore, the search for the impact of carbon and phosphorus content of weathering steels on its overall performance, especially the cold and hot crack sensitivity, is of great concern to the research, production and application departments.
