The Court of Justice of the European Communities (hereinafter referred to as the “Community Court”) is the judicial body of the European Community and is responsible for hearing and adjudicating disputes arising in the implementation of Community treaties and the statutory rules promulgated by community agencies. The role of Community Courts is mainly achieved through the exercise of full jurisdiction over all proceedings involving Community law, including those instituted in Community courts and proceedings brought before the courts of member States of the Community. The jurisdiction of Community Courts is not available to courts in general international organizations and varies widely with the jurisdiction of courts in member States.
