“公正”不仅是西方社会的价值核心,更是我们中华民族传统乃至现代社会所应重视和追求的伦理基础。吕坤在继承前人研究的基础上,唯躬行实践为本,疾呼“‘公正’二字是撑持世界底,没了这二字,便塌了天。”从政治、法律、经济三方面阐述了其公正思想,主要内容包含:“能使天下之人者,惟神、惟德、惟惠、惟威”的执政公正观;“只把持得‘公’字定,便自天清地宁、政清讼息”的执法公正观;“圣人所以安天下,只是个‘平’字”的经济公正观。在明朝中晚期出现政治危机的时代背景下,吕坤所呈现的“公正”思想,深刻体现了“古今通理”的现代价值诉求。
