Objective To detect the role of peripheral blood Th17 cells and regulatory T cells (Treg cells) in the pathogenesis of threatened abortion. Methods Twenty-four healthy pregnant women and 37 pregnant women with threatened abortion were enrolled in this study. The proportion of Th17 cells and Treg cells in CD4 + T cells in peripheral blood of two groups were detected by using three-color fluorescent flow cytometry. The correlation was analyzed by SPSS16.0 data. Results Thirty pregnant women with threatened abortion and healthy early pregnant women had no history of spontaneous abortion. The proportion of Th17 cells to CD4 + T cells in pregnant women with threatened abortion was significantly higher than that in healthy pregnant women (P <0.05), while Treg cells accounted for CD4 + T (P <0.05). The proportion of Th17 / Treg cells was significantly higher in pregnant women with threatened abortion (P <0.05). Conclusion The abnormal levels of Th17 and Treg cells in peripheral blood and imbalance between the two may be involved in the occurrence of threatened abortion.
