As an analytical tool in nuclear reactors, flame photometry is increasingly important. This method has its advantages in detecting traces of lanthanides and their cognate scandium and yttrium as compared with emission spectroscopy and spectrophotometry. This is the report of Dr. O. Menis at the Third American Conference on Analytical Chemistry in Atomic Energy Reactor Processes.
