“黄土画派”和“长安画派”是新中国成立以来根植于陕西这片黄土地上的两个杰出艺术流派,具有浓厚的时代特色和地域特色,在近现代中国画坛中占有重要地位,对其艺术风格的研究特别是艺术风格的比较研究有助于把握近现代中国画尤其是陕西地区中国画的发展脉络,领会“以人民为中心”的创作方向,对当代中国画创作有其现实指导意义。并且,当下有少数人对于“黄土画派”的地位认识不清,由于“黄土画派”和“长安画派”所隔时间段较为接近,又都是根植于黄土高原的艺术流派,容易给人造成错觉,从而把“黄土画派”归于“长安画派”的范畴内,为了从理论上更好的认识两个画派,对其艺术风格的比较研究非常有意义。
