《释名》一书,是我国第一部探讨词源的专著,在语义研究中佔有重要地位。从《说文》的离析字形以求字义,到《释名》的缘声求义,不仅开辟了词义研究的新领域,而且还开创了词义研究的新方法。《释名》探求词源的研究方法和释义内容,还具有语义学方面的价值。 The Book of Names, which is the first monograph on etymology in China, occupies an important position in the study of semantics.
