1.巨额的医疗费用下竟有3700万人无任何保险 1991年8月2日,美国下院的一个议员在演讲中称:“从美国的医疗费用占国民生产总值的比例看,美国高于所有的发达国家,1990年为12.3%,到2000年将可能达16.4%,医疗费用如此高速度增长下去将会导致美国经济的崩溃。”该议员对控制医疗费用颇感兴趣。另从“纽约时报”的社论看,有关美国医疗制度改革的内容近几年来不断出现。这种医疗费用持续高速度增长,另一方面又有约3700万美国人得不到任何医疗保险的现状已开始引起人们的关注。
