I was fortunate enough to read Zhang Lao’s account in 1952 when I edited an encyclopedia of college students’ Encyclopedia of Encyclopedia of Chinese Cultural Prerequisites and selected Mr. Zhang Yuanji (1867 ~ 1959), a famous publisher and educator in our country.
