In the eastern part of the eastern Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang, Kuruktag and the Beishan, the junction of the Gansu and Gansu, two Precambrian strata are widely distributed over the Arctic (bottom). The lower part is a metamorphic complex. The lower part of the series is clastic rocks and mudstones with different degrees of metamorphism. The upper part is magnesian marble, dolomite and laminated rock, which can be compared with the Sinian in northern China. Its Kuruktag group is a moraine rock series, which can be compared with the “Sinian system” (or “Three Gorges”) in southern China. These two sets of strata are not angularly contacted in this area and provide a direct stratigraphic basis for solving the sequence of the Sinian in the north of China and the Sinian in the south.
