本文对一种新的碳化硅镀覆金刚石的特性及其应用进行了讨论。研制的镀覆技术对化学侵蚀提供了良好的保护,同时不影响与降低金刚石在工具上的把持性能。这使得工具制造商在使用不太贵的,而化学上侵蚀性较大胎体材料时能有效的节省费用。同时还发现,碳化硅镀覆的金刚石能很好地适用于高温下金刚石工具的制造,实验数据表明,用碳化硅镀覆的金刚石工具能改善不同使用条件下的工具性能与寿命。最后,该研究还确定了这种新的镀覆技术给工具制造商提供最大效益的应用范围。
This paper discusses the properties of a new silicon carbide coated diamond and its applications. The developed plating technology provides good protection against chemical attack without compromising and reducing the handling of diamond on the tool. This allows toolmakers to effectively save money while using less expensive, more chemically aggressive matrix materials. At the same time, it is also found that diamond coated with silicon carbide can be well applied to the manufacture of diamond tools at high temperature. Experimental data show that diamond tools coated with silicon carbide can improve tool performance and life under different conditions of use. Finally, the study also identified the range of applications that this new plating technology offers tool manufacturers the most benefits.
