“天竺遗法”与“凹凸花”之间的异同关系是本文研究的主要内容。作者以龟兹石窟中带有“凹凸画法”特点的壁画和部分佛寺遗存的门饰图案为例,从用色特点和内容等方面入手,论证了存在于“天竺遗法”和“凹凸花”之间的区别与联系。本文指出“天竺遗法”是对古印度佛教造型技术的总称,“凹凸花”则是“天竺遗法”的一种表现方式且明显具有建筑装饰的特点,从而阐释了这两种技法间的异同关系。
