This article describes an all-digital interface module for an 8-channel VFC data acquisition system with high signal-to-noise ratio and low interface timing constraints. The interface module uses a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) Chip implementation. In addition to being compact and reliable in operation, the interface module implemented using FPGAs can be reconfigured multiple times to accommodate the changing needs of the system architecture or functionality.
