MicroRNAs (miRNAs), as a highly conserved, endogenous non-coding small RNA, mainly regulate important life processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and immune response after transcription. miR-146 is the first modulator found in mammalian innate and adaptive immunity. The dysregulation of miR-146a is closely related to the occurrence of rheumatic diseases and the abnormal immune regulation. The role of miR-146a as a member of the miR-146 family in the pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases has drawn much attention. The study of the mechanism of miR-146a in rheumatic diseases is helpful for the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases.
