Nowadays, Chinese music newspapers and periodicals face enormous challenges brought about by the highly-developed electronic media, audio-video production and economic restructuring. The existing system and a single mode of running a journal are increasingly difficult to adapt to the situation and unable to meet the needs of a large number of journalists and the market. Many newspapers and periodicals have a hard time surviving. In the new century, where will the Chinese music press go? From May 26 to May 28, 24 music newspapers and periodical leaders in the country gathered in Chengdu to participate in a conference called “Music World” magazine co-sponsored by Chengdu Jintang Green Island Conference Leisure Center 21st Century Symposium on the Development Strategy of Chinese Music and Newspapers and Periodicals, "discussing heatedly the problems we face and discussing plans for future development.
