智能交通系统（ＩｎｔｅｌｉｇｅｎｔＴｒａｆｉｃＳｙｓｔｅｍ———ＩＴＳ）是采用现代高新技术实现对公交系统的动态检测处理与智能化管理。研究开发利用ＩＣ卡（ＩｎｔｅｇｒａｔｅｄＣｉｒｃｕｉｔＣａｒｄ）或智能卡（ＳｍａｒｔＣａｒｄ）作为公交信息管理系统的载体，以建立智能化公交管理信息系统。ＩＣ卡具有存储量大、数据保密性好、抗干扰能力强等优点，将其应用于公交信息管理，可提高现代化管理水平。
Intelligent transportation system (InteligentTraficSystem --- ITS) is the use of modern high-tech bus system to achieve dynamic detection and intelligent management. Research and development of the use of IC cards (IntegratedCircuitCard) or smart card (SmartCard) as a carrier of public transportation information management system to establish an intelligent bus management information system. IC card with a large amount of storage, data confidentiality, anti-interference ability, etc., its application to the bus information management, can improve the modern management level.
