Coryneform protein is the main effector secreted by Toxoplasma gondii in host cells and locates in different parts of host cells and interacts with it in complex. By regulating the membrane system and framework structure, the protein can affect the biological activity of host cells, thus blocking its inherent defense mechanism, so that Toxoplasma successfully achieve intracellular invasion, parasitism and proliferation. The function of the rod-like protein on the host cell and its mode of action reflect the pathogenic mechanism of Toxoplasma gondii, and are of great significance in exploring the drug target for the treatment of toxoplasmosis and the safe and effective vaccine candidate molecule. This review summarizes the recent progress in the research on the interaction between Toxoplasma gondii protein and host cells.
