The most accurate target mission performance (TTP) model for evaluating infrared systems in the United States is analyzed. By elaborating the theoretical basis of TTP modeling, it explains the essential difference with respect to Johnson criterion, which is mainly the concept of system threshold contrast and the integral of all valid frequencies perceived by the human eye. The paper introduces how to transfer the TTP model to the experimental process of task performance probability, and summarizes its characteristics relative to Johnson criterion through the basic concepts of experimental data and TTP.
