According to the recently released Marine and Petroleum Geology, Hydrocarbon Habitat in Rift Basins has been published. The book brings together the results of a rift basin conference held in Bath in England in 1993 to outline the geological features of the rift basin and hydrocarbon enrichment. Continental rift and lacustrine source rock basin is the main content of the book. Papers in the book can be divided into four parts. The first part, Rift Structure: Patterns and Observations, consists of five papers. Morley summarized the research progress of rift tectonic geology over the past decade and its significance for oil and gas exploration. Based on field and seismic surveys in East Africa and the Gulf of Suez, he provided an overview of the rift configuration, the role of the transfer belt and the crustal extension pattern. Kuznir et al. Used quantitative methods to simulate the formation mechanism of rift basins. Roberts and Gawthorpe describe the detailed results of the study of the deformation in the Corinthian Gulf, which dealt with the diagenesis associated with fracture porosity. Bosworth outlines the stratigraphy and tectonics of the Suez Bay rift. He focused on the determination of the beta coefficient in the rift basins, arguing that the southern segment of the Gulf of Suez
