砚贵有铭。铭文不仅集诗文意蕴、书法艺术和雕刻技艺于一身,往往还反映砚主人的情怀抱负、交友逸事和砚石传承往来以及社会风貌等等,意浅旨深,发人遐想,令人回味。我有一方明代抄手砚,上面铭文就展现了一代高僧弘一法师和闽南著名金石书画家马海髯之间的笃厚情意。这方砚呈抄手式(图1),长22.4厘米,宽12.4厘米,高8厘米,面有宽边框,后无堵,砚堂平展,一指池。从左到右边墙阴刻《心经》全文并题
Yan expensive Ming.
