The authors evaluated the tribological properties of a bonded solid lubricant film containing antimony thiosulfate, molybdenum disulfide and graphite, indicating that the performance of the two-component adhesive film is superior to that of the one-component film, the three-component adhesive film optimal. The influence of operating conditions on the life of the adhesive film was evaluated and a series of curves showing the relationship between the speed and the load at a given lifetime were made. The adhesion film thickness, transfer film change and bubble formation on the wear scar were measured and observed. The failure mechanism of the adhesive film was analyzed and the synergistic effect between the lubricants was also discussed. Tentative use of mathematical formulas to describe the bonding of the solid lubricant film wear life and the relationship between load and speed.
