As noise is generated in part from crushing ore and other ore processing operations, the beneficiary of the Rexnord Institute of Mining and Dispensing Machinery in the United States decided to explore various practical ways of crushing noise sources, estimating effective cost, and reducing noise. The Rexnord Minerals Research and Test Center conducted extensive noise tests with 3-foot short-head cone crushers. This crusher noise test is divided into noise-free protection, plus padded protective plates and sound-absorbing materials lining the wall closed crusher three cases. In all three cases, greater noise reduction is only provided in a fully enclosed state. At Jackson Steel’s 7-foot Symons Cone Crusher Closure Test, conducted by the Industrial Acoustics Research Corporation (IAC) and the U.S. Bureau of Mines
