中南矿冶学院和武进铜粉末冶金厂共同研制的95系列柴油机连杆粉末冶金黄铜轴套,于1984年9月通过鉴定。该轴套因能满足设计使用要求而可以取代铸造机加工6-6-3锡青铜轴套,具有明显的技术经济效益。其材料利用率可由铸造机加工的23.8%提高到现在的95%,即材料利用率提高了3倍,而成本却为ZQSn6-6-3青铜的70%,此外还节约了大量的贵重金属锡。鉴定会由江苏省机械工业厅委托常州机械冶金公司主持,新华日报,常州电视台及广播局记者对会议进行了采访。
