《吴祖光剧作选》的出版,对我们戏剧界是一件值得庆贺的事!事隔三、四十年,重读这些剧作,真是不胜感慨。当年,正是抗战初期,我与祖光在重庆的国立戏剧专科学校里共事,虽然我长他十岁,但因都是从沦陷的北方来的,所以经常交往。他的第一个剧本《凤凰城》写成后就是由我参加导演在重庆上演的,内容是表现东北抗日英雄的。演出极受观众欢迎,从此我和祖光便结上深厚的友情。后来从一九四○年起我到了上海,创办“苦干”剧团,仍与留在重庆的祖光不断联系,又导演过他写的两个戏:《牛郎织女》与《林冲》,《牛郎织女》还请了梅兰芳先生来指导剧中舞带绸的
The publication of “Wu Zu Guang’s Drama Selection” is a celebration of our theater industry. It is a great feeling to reread these plays after three or four decades.
