1989年5月4日,我校萄清泉教授报告了他提出的室温核聚变机理后,引起了国内外向行学者的重视。他近来在室温核聚变机理又进行了进一步的探讨与计算,阐明了钯晶体中,由于屏蔽与振动作用,相邻两氘将近程碰撞速率大大提高了,容易产生核聚变。8月上旬,他应邀去美国犹他大学作了金属与金刚石粘结机理的学术报告,并在该校全校性的聚变讨论班上,作了室温核聚变机理的学术报告。会后化学系C.Walling
On May 4, 1989, Professor Xiang Qingquan of our university reported the room temperature nuclear fusion mechanism that he proposed, which aroused the attention from domestic and foreign scholars. He recently conducted a further discussion and calculation of the mechanism of nuclear fusion at room temperature, clarifying that due to the shielding and vibrational effects in the palladium crystals, the adjacent two deuteriums greatly increase the short-range collision rate and easily cause nuclear fusion. In early August, he was invited to go to the University of Utah for an academic report on the mechanism of metal-to-diamond bonding.
