The welding characteristics of laser - TIG welding (LTDSW) were studied using 4 mm and 10 mm thick 5A06 aluminum alloy as experimental material. The process takes full advantage of the interaction between laser and TIG arc heat source, which not only can obtain stable and reliable welding process and beautiful weld formation, but also significantly increase joint penetration, reduce welding defects and improve welding productivity Reduce welding costs and other advantages, to achieve a reliable connection of 4 mm thick aluminum alloy plate under low power (1.0 kW) laser conditions. Compared with laser welding, the number of stomata in laser-TIG welding double-sided welding decreased, and the stoma distribution was mainly affected by the matching of laser and arc energy. The number and size of stomata mainly depended on the size of welding heat input. Tensile strength of the laser-TIG welding joint is 310 MPa, which is about 88% of the strength of the base metal.
