Autumn planting is more favorable for planting autumn-sown crops in Canadian grasslands than for spring-sown crops. However, when winter wheat is expanded to areas where freezing may occur, there is an urgent need to breed more cold-tolerant cultivars and to implement cultivation measures to reduce freezing.
