Distributed denial of service attacks take advantage of the weaknesses of the Internet, the attack is very effective, and very difficult to resist. Because they generate legitimate traffic and data requests, it is hard to detect the true source of the attack. By analyzing a type of DDOS attack, -SHAFT, it shows how it works. SHAFT is a self-developed DDOS attack method, according to the analysis can be found that it is still under development, there are several key characteristics of its evolutionary direction, the most important of which is: packet statistics, and change the controlled host select. Matching passwords with “tickets” may also be one of their evolutionary directions.
