This article describes a new dielectric resonator bandpass filter that can be used with microwave integrated circuits. This filter is currently the best performance of a microwave integrated circuit narrowband filter. In this paper, the theoretical analysis of this filter is made, and the main formulas of the filter design are deduced. The measured performance of one-to-four resonator band-pass filter is given. For example, a 5cm tri-resonator filter with a relative bandwidth of 0.2% has an in-band insertion loss of about 0.8dB and an out-of-band attenuation greater than 50dB with a 30dB to 3dB bandwidth ratio of about 3.3.
