There is a famous flower of Begonia in Shu, which was first published in Jialao’s book “Hundred Flowers.” Jia was a famous minister in the period of Tang Su Song and Daizong Period and had been prime minister. However, we can still see some of the “Hundred Flowers” and the records of Begonia from “The Complete Ancestral Garden of Peony” (Agricultural Press, 1982 reprinted) and the transcripts of various Ming and Qing Dynasties recorded by Chen Jingyi in the Southern Song Dynasty. This is: “Begonia without incense, but Shu in Jiazhou have incense, the wood hugging”; “Begonia fragrance, the only Jingnan who incense, so Changzhou Begonia fragrant.”
