北京是国内最早提出“公交优先”战略的城市之一。但由于北京是一个1500多万人口的特大城市,截至2006年11月,北京市机动车保有量已达285万辆,而且仍以平均每天1000辆的速度增加,小汽车出行比例持续增长,高峰时段市区主要干道基本处于饱和状态,道路交通拥堵严重。而目前北京的“公交优先”政策实施还不是很到位,北京的公共交通出行只占市民出行总量的25%左右,而世界发达国家一般都在70~80%之间。
Beijing is one of the first cities in China to put forward the “bus priority” strategy.
