Researchers have known for decades that the eye can do more than just detect light. Neurons in the retina also process basic situational information before sending it to the brain, but it is still a mystery how to process information in what ways. EyeWire is an online neuron drawing game that was launched in December 2012 by a team led by H. Sebastien Seung, a neuroscientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Volunteers from the game sketched out the cell contours in different colors in the mouse retina. As of early May, a total of 120,000 volunteers joined the game, drawing a total of 2.3 million cell units. This figure
