The development of Chinese calligraphy entered a period of transition in the early twentieth century. With the succession of western academic culture, the construction of modern art has become a part of the transformation of Chinese traditional education. However, in this process, calligraphy has not got its right place. The cause of incorporating calligraphy into the prominent position of the modern art system has been shelved for a long time, so calligraphy is in an awkward situation of marginalization. But the early twentieth century was not a barren era in the history of calligraphy.
