This article explores the mitogenic effects of ConA on mitosis caused by viral infection by comparing the changes of terminal lymphocyte surface receptors in normal cats with Felv (Feline leukemia virus) viremic cats. The mechanism by which lymphocyte surface receptors change is investigated using FITO-labeled GonA to measure lymphocyte capping. The authors used 21 disease-free animals as controls and, under the same conditions, an average coverage rate of 17% was found with normal ConA-treated lymphocytes in the cats, whereas 6 with FelvV7
