The essay “Endless Mountains and Rivers”, a long poem with global subcultures and myths completed in 40 years by American poet Greg Schneider, has been hailed as the unveiling of Western ecologically poetic poetry since its publication in 1996. Inspired by the Japanese “Collection of Zen Buddhism”, Schneider solved the narrative contradiction of “endless mountains and rivers” in the poem volume by using its original ku structural mechanism and created a poetic effect of time and space. This article discusses the relationship between Shi’s ku structure and the concepts of haiku, Quran, visual imagination and nature-Zen image, analyzes how poets use hybrid techniques, uses sub-culture material to create ku structure, and how ku structure reconciles poet / Prophet "two major contradictions.
