吉卜林最后一部印度题材小说《基姆》在过去几十年的文学批评领域中被视为殖民文学的典范文本,批评家较多关注其中帝国主义话语的撒播和建构。鉴于此,本文将关注点置于该小说的反讽式修辞方式,分别从文本本体、历史语境以及宗教哲学三个层面阐释吉卜林独特的印度书写,基于针对相关层面的参照研究揭示吉卜林有关东西方交融中普适性问题的考察,进而探讨该文本是否因作者的矛盾心理及反讽式书写而形成前后悖论之势。
Kipling’s last India themed novel “Keim” has been regarded as a model text of colonial literature in the field of literary criticism over the past few decades, and critics have focused more on the dissemination and construction of imperialist discourse. In view of this, this article will focus on the irony rhetoric of the novel, interpreting Kipling’s unique Indian writing from the perspectives of textual noumenon, historical context and religious philosophy respectively. Based on the relevant studies on the related levels, Lin investigated the universality of the East-West blend, and then explored whether the text was paradoxical or not due to the writer’s ambivalence and ironic writing.
