在美学研究中,对于生活与艺术的关系,一般是把艺术归结为对生活的反映、对生活的本质和规律的概括和提炼;然而,一批“为艺术而艺术”的艺术家却努力摆脱“生活”对艺术的限制,使艺术像一群脱缰之马,沿着漫无定格的道路,创造出无数充满个性的艺术形式,令人耳目一新。这让我们不禁对生活与艺术的一致性产生了极大的怀疑。美学大师黑格尔与车尔尼雪夫斯基关于“美在艺术”还是“美在生活”就有过争论,那么,生活与艺术的审美本质,究竟有何差异呢?长期的探索和大量的事实证明了一个有趣但起初不敢相信的现象:艺术虽源于生活,其审美形式却与生活相反(个性与共性主次位置颠倒)。艺术是十足的个性产物,而生活则充满了十足的共性……也就是说,艺术之美美于个性,生活之美则美于共性。
