快速傅里叶变换处理机是用快速算法计算离散傅里叶变换的专用计算机。快速傅里叶变换(Fast Fourier Transform)简称FFT,其处理机简称FFT处理机或FFT硬件。傅里叶变换是无线电技术、信息处理、数学、物理、工程等方面的有力数学工具。在无线电技术中,离不开对所产生、发射、接收、放大的信号谱成分的分析与了解,根据信号谱成分及其它一些要求来考虑设计无线电设备。用傅里叶变换分析信号谱成分早已为无线电技术工作者所熟知。一个无线电信号x(t),它具有的谱成分A(f)可用傅里叶正变换表示:
