红蜘蛛的发生发展和生态因子的关系,早就为很多人注意,这当然是由于它的严重性所引起的。由于它分布广泛,为害寄主繁多,所以很早就引起了人们的研究,特别是探讨和研究它的发生消长规律。在国内一般却认为干旱的天气是红蜘蛛猖獗流行的决定因素。事实上,红蜘蛛对大气中的温湿度反应也确为灵敏,尤其在为害盛期,与出口密度的下降关系上表现的更为突出,这都为前人所证实。不少资料报导温度在27℃以上、湿度在50%以下最适其繁殖。
