6月19日阿里安将欧洲气象卫星-2和印度第一颗实验通信卫星同时送入转移轨道。27日印度宣布它的卫星已进入同步轨道。但两块太阳电池帆板中有一块未能展开。此卫星自77年开始研制,79年底结束,周期两年多。卫星上装有两台C波段转发器,600条话路;三轴稳定;起飞重量670公斤,轨道重量352公斤;最大输出功率241瓦;EIRP值为31.5分贝瓦。设计寿命两年。为研制此卫星向欧美各国采购的关键设备主要有:行波管(美)、太阳电池帆板(美)、帆板驱动机构(英)、蓄电池(法)、姿控用的动量轮(西德)等。
On June 19, Ali Ann sent EME-2 and India’s first experimental communications satellite to the transfer orbit simultaneously. India announced on the 27th that its satellite is in orbit. But one of the two solar panels failed to unfold. The satellite has been developed since the beginning of the year 77 and has been completed by the end of 79 with a period of more than two years. The satellite is equipped with two C-band transponders, 600 sessions; three-axis stability; takeoff weight of 670 kg, track weight 352 kg; maximum output power of 241 watts; EIRP value of 31.5 decibels. Design life of two years. For the development of this satellite to the European and American procurement of key equipment are: traveling wave tube (the United States), solar panels wind (the United States), windsurfing drive (UK), batteries (law), attitude control with momentum wheel Germany) and so on.
