有些英语形容词本身可充当副词使用。同时，这类形容词又可以加上副词后缀－ｌｙ构成副词。英国著名语言学家ＣＥＥｃｋｅｒｓｌｅｙ将这类副词定认为“具有两种形式的副词”，即长副词和短副词。这类副词的两种形式有时表意相同，有时表意相异；在表意相同时还存在着可替换使用与不可替换使用的两种情况。
Some English adjectives can themselves act as adverbs. At the same time, these adjectives can be added adverb suffix-ly constitute adverbs. The famous British linguist CE Eckersley defines such adverbs as “adverbs with two forms”, long adverbs and short adverbs. The two forms of such adverbs sometimes express the same or different meanings at times. There are two situations that can be used interchangeably and irreplaceable at the same meaning.
