It has long been recognized that pregnant women drinking alcohol will have a lot of adverse consequences on the fetus, severe cases can lead to “fetal alcohol syndrome.” However, the impact of alcohol consumption on the fetus, in this regard is not enough understanding. Although rodent experiments have shown that mating of females to alcohol-fed males increases their intrauterine death in the litter and decreases litter size per litter, it has also been reported that there is an increase in fetal male / female ratio, an increase in deformity, and a decrease in birth weight . However, in terms of population epidemiology, only Little et al reported that her husband consumed a large amount of alcohol before her pregnancy and her birth weight was reduced. To get more evidence, the author of this paper further analyzed the data of a research project on child health and development. The study population, who lived in the eastern Gulf of San Francisco of the United States between June 1959 and September 1966, was diagnosed as a pregnant woman with the exception of stillbirth, multiple births, non-cooperation, loss of follow-up and incomplete drinking of the man.
