Thermal imaging scopes have more battlefield advantages than enhanced scopes. The U.S. Army is gradually replacing the augmentation sight with a thermal imaging sight and is used on light weapons. The AN / PAS-13 Thermal Imaging Scope (TWS) will replace the AN / PVS-4 and AN / TVS-5 low-beam scopes in use and will be used by the United States Land Warrior program.
