王文兴是台湾当代文学现代主义的标志性代表。他曾是《现代文学》刊物的创始人之一,《现代文学》时期的他就以现代主义文学先锋姿态享誉台湾文坛。之后,他分别发表了《家变》和《背海的人》两部震动文坛的长篇小说,这两部小说摆脱了他1960年代各种现代主义写作技艺的束缚,将自己对台湾现实父权、威权政治的反抗发挥到了极致。更可贵的是,在长达四十年的台湾当局的戒严时代,王文兴以现代主义的象征、隐喻和戏拟对历史和现实的台湾进行一种批判性的文学阐释,而且他执着于对今世今生的台湾世态人生的刻画。可以说,在这种现代主义技艺的高超实践和现世人生的精心雕琢中,王文兴攀登到了自己的艺术高峰,也成为台湾文学难以逾越的艺术高峰。
Wang Wenxing is the iconic representative of modern literature in Taiwan. He was one of the founders of the magazine “Modern Literature” and enjoyed a prestigious position in the literary world in Taiwan during the period of “Modern Literature.” After that, he published two novel articles shocking the literary world, “Family Transformation” and “Back to the Sea” respectively. These two novels got rid of the shackles of various modernist writing skills in the 1960s and confined themselves to the reality of Taiwan’s fatherhood The rebellion of authoritarian politics reached its limit. What is even more valuable is that in the martial law period of up to 40 years of Taiwan’s authorities, Wang Wenxing conducted a critical literary interpretation of the historical and the reality Taiwan with the symbols, metaphors and simulations of modernism, Life in Taiwan’s world life portrayal. It can be said that Wang Wenxing climbed to the top of his art in the superb practice of this modernist technique and the meticulous carving of the world in his life. It has also become an insurmountable art peak in Taiwanese literature.
