The Chinese government’s eco-restoration project implemented in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River provides a series of environmental goods and services such as water erosion reduction, air purification and biodiversity conservation. The article uses Choice Modeling technology to evaluate the non-market value of environmental benefits generated by ecological restoration projects in Chengdu and Shanghai. The implicit prices of environmental attributes are estimated using MNL and RPL models. The results show that the samples of two cities have willingness to pay for environmental services from ecological restoration projects, and there is no significant difference in environmental benefits between the implied prices of the two places. Based on the RPL model, the average willingness to pay for each respondent in Chengdu was RMB1062.55 for the environmental improvement of this project and RMB962.72 for Shanghai. There was no significant difference in willingness to pay between urban residents in both places.
