Gordimer is a tendentious writer, but her evaluation of social life is not based on any external authority, but on the inherent law of self-awareness. She regarded the neglect of self caused by the excessive reaction to politics in literary works as the crime of morality of the times, and advocated “personal treatment of political themes ”. Although Goddymer never declared himself a liberal humanist, her understanding of literature and his practice of writing are everywhere to show the value of free humanism.
