1 INTRODUCTIONrnSuperabsorbent polymers(SAPs)are new functional materials,which can absorb and retain an unusually large amount of water and body fluid.They have a variety of valuable applications[1,2] because of their unique characteristics,and they can be divided into two classes:nonionic and ionic polymers.The majority of present-day SAPs are prepared from acrylic acid[1-4],as ionic polymers, whose absorbing rate is slow and resistance to metal ion is weak[5]. However, as a nonionic polymer, the absorption capacity of the homopolymer of acrylamide (AM) is low, but it has quick swelling rate and strong resistance to metal ion.Recently researchers were focused on polymerizing acrylamide with ionic monomers to improve its resistance to metal ion[6,7].Some superabsorbent polymers that can absorb both water and pure alcohol were also reported in recent years[8], but their absorbency in pure alcohol is less than 100 g*g-1,much smaller than their water-absorbency.
