随着中国加速融入全球化浪潮,文化市场与国际上的交流也日趋频繁。电影,作为文化活动的重要形式和文化生活的重要载体,成为大众消遣娱乐的主要方式之一;而对于英文电影的引进已成为我国电影市场必不可少的环节。电影片名属于具有诉求目的的文本,有商业广告特性,这决定了英文电影片名的翻译必须要把受众市场的需求放在首位。本文以时下热门以及经典的英美电影为例,分析了文化因素在电影片名及其汉译中的体现;结合翻译目的论,简述了英文电影片名的汉译方法。由此得出,在翻译电影片名的过程中,不仅要讲究翻译方法,更要考虑翻译的目的性以及文化背景因素。
As China accelerates its integration into the tide of globalization, the exchange of cultural markets and the international community is also becoming more frequent. Film, as an important form of cultural activities and an important carrier of cultural life, has become one of the main ways for mass entertainment. However, the introduction of English films has become an indispensable link in the movie market in China. The title of the movie belongs to the appealing purpose of the text, commercial advertising features, which determines the English movie title translation must be the needs of the audience market in the first place. This article analyzes the cultural factors reflected in the movie titles and their Chinese translations, taking popular and classic British and American films for example. With the help of translational teleology, the article briefly describes the methods of Chinese translation of English movie titles. It is concluded that in the process of translating movie titles, not only the method of translation should be emphasized, but also the purpose of translation and the cultural background.
