A CAPP system supporting parallel design of hydraulic cylinders is introduced. The overall structure of the CAPP system for parallel engineering is established, the expression of process knowledge and the process decision based on knowledge are realized. CAPP system based on microcomputer network technology is designed to support concurrent design .
